The Paris Jazz Festival 2007 is announced right now like the event impossible to circumvent of the Parisian Summer.

Close the eyes one moment, you hear? It is jazz… This music so soft to your ears will rock your sunny afternoon. This music will accompany you by June 9 to July 29, always in this bucolic and enchanter location which is the Parc Floral of Paris.

Weekend after weekend, it is an overflowing place of life that you will find, where you will be able to take the sun or to lengthen you in the shade of a tree, swallow fresh drinks with some friends, or to quietly digest your picnic on bottom of greenery and music.

Devoted to make you live a cultural summer without precedent, it is at the frantic rate of 4 even 6 concerts per weekend that the festival will take its take-off this year. For the first time indeed, we will propose, the time of one weekend, a series named “young growths” made up of three groups per day in order to widen your knowledge once more and to give a serious blow of inch to the relief guard of the European jazz.

Animations which will mark out the alleys of the site will be still one of attractions to be followed all the summer. In the continuity of edition 2006 we have preserved not only the ludic aspect of animations all around the concerts, but we have developed them. The idea is simple! Spend one whole day in the Parc dedicated to the music and nature.

After midday the brass bands will still saunter in the alleys. You will find again the exhibition “the Tree of the Jazz” which will approach this year the topic “Dance the jazz” but also the “Musical Structures” with its new and innovative ludic sculptures,. You will discover also some innovations; the extraordinary carved figurines of the exposure “jazzed Iron”. Courses of dance will be exempted in nature. And in the idea to always move the music towards the public, you will cross certainly the pianist walker and his “Piano à portée de Main”.

Respect of the park and respect of the plants are always our red wire with the likings of the years. Diversity in the flora as in the music, we still endeavoured this year to develop our pluralism. A whole series of topics will thus be developed in order to guide you in your choices of weekend, for those which are not yet very familiar with this music so often misunderstood or unkown by the large public.

Superstar of the modern jazz, the trumpet player Wynton Marsalis, who will occur in quintet the last weekend end to Jef Neve, the new revelation of the piano; during these 8 weeks we will make you discover or rediscover the jazz.

The modern one with the energetic guitar of Kurt Rosenwinkel, the gipsy one with the virtuosos who are Boulou and Elios Ferré or the whooping-cough of the public Thomas Dutronc, the hardware bop with the splendid group of Dave Holland, to the jazz-world with the fantastic Cameroonian bass player Richard Bona, to vocal with the revelation of the year Robin McKelle and the icon Randy Crawford, or with “flying jazz” with the Swedish trio E.S.T.
The French jazz will of course not be remains about it with the big talent of Daniel Humair and his so called “joyeux drilles” musicians of the “Baby-boom” band and project, the weekend of opening devoted to the great French formations, or many sure values of our hexagon like Stephan Guillaume or Pierre de Bethmann.

Discoveries also like this young guitarist and singer Torsten Goods or the madness of Hurlak’s quartet cords!!

Finally at the time of this edition we will lay a strong stress on the Respect of the Nature, which is before a whole question of good practices to take or even how to change our practices…

It well is known: the natural resources are impoverished, the climate is heated, the air and nature is polluted daily… It is thus necessary that each one changes its practices for better respecting the environment. We all can contribute to it, by small gestures of the every day. Paris Jazz Festival also wishes to take part in this awakening, that of the durable development
